Personal Development
The future is always uncertain. Weather changes. Economic cycles are unpredictable. Disasters, accidents, and illness can change life quickly. These actions are largely beyond our control. But there are some things we can control, including how we spend our time each day…Yes, we should learn from the past, and yes, we should prepare for the future. But only now can we do. Now is the time we can learn.
- President Russell M. Nelson
Self Reliance Group Workshops
One tool for personal development is participation in self-reliance groups.
Self-reliance groups combine practical skills with spiritual principles to help people help themselves.
Self-reliance groups are usually small, with fewer than 12 people, and are led by a facilitator, not an expert or a teacher.
Workshops for Fall 2024
Group meetings will originate live from the Columbus Ohio Stake Center.
Participants may use digital manuals that are available in Gospel Library found under Library/Life Help/Self Reliance. Hard copies are also available.
Virtual option is available for Personal Finances. Below are some online expectations:
Access to a device with online access and that has a camera
Everyone is expected to take part as if they are physically present: read, discuss, write, make goals, ponder, and have an action partner.
Show your face (camera on) at all times. Leave only for very short periods.
Arrive and sign in early.
Interact with everyone in the group.
Registration is open NOW! Find the links below! There is a choice to register with or without a church account. Please make sure your contact information is up to date.
